Enjoy a family-friendly hike along the ZigZag Overlook Trail, Trillium Lake Loop, or Tamanawas Trail

Mt. Hood is home to miles of family-friendly hiking trails. Here are three of our favorites:

Zigzag Overlook Hike is a moderate, 4.4-mile loop offering picturesque views of the canyon, wildflowers, huckleberries, and rhododendrons, and majestic old-growth forests.

Trillium Lake Loop Trail is an easy, scenic 2-mile loop that the whole family can enjoy. You can also bike around the lake or cool off with a dip in the lake!

Tamanawas Falls Trail is a moderate, 3.4-mile loop that will reward your efforts with the sighting of a majestic 100 ft tall waterfall.

Dip your paddle on Frog Lake and Trillium Lake

Frog Lake and Trillium Lake are popular spots for family canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. The helpful and knowledgeable team from Mt. Hood Outfitters conveniently rents equipment right from Trillium Lake Dam beach and will get you out on the water in no time!

Drop a line and Go Fishing on Trillium Lake, Timothy Lake or Along Hood River, the Columbia River and the Deschutes River

Whether you are a beginner or experienced angler, the Columbia River, Deschutes, Hood River, Timothy Lake, and Trillium Lake are all ideal fishing spots where you can find a variety of fish, including rainbow trout, sockeye, and steelhead.
