The hunt for hidden treasures is on! If you are staying in or near Lincoln City this Memorial Day Weekend, you are in luck! Float Fairies will be placing 50 extra red, white & blue glass floats on the beaches from Roads End to Siletz Bay. And remember … if you find a float, it is yours to keep!
What is Finders Keepers?
The Finders Keepers project started in 1997, when a local artist had the idea of launching the new millennium with glass floats. Lincoln City sponsored the project, hosting the inaugural season in 1999-2000. Tourists came from all around the country to search for their own brilliantly colored, signed and numbered glass float. Now visitors can search the sandy beaches of Lincoln City for glass floats made by local artists throughout the year.
Rules of the Hunt
- Floats can be found above the high tide line and below the beach embankment.
- Floats are placed on the beach during daylight hours only.
- Floats are hidden throughout the day, not just at one time.
- Floats are out every day rain or shine. On rare occasions, weather and ocean conditions can create unsafe situations. Official notice of any cancellations will be made on our social media channels and website.
- One float per person, per year.
- When you find a glass float, call 541-996-1274, text FLOATS to 866-943-0443, or register your treasure here. You’ll receive a Certificate of Authenticity and information about the artist who crafted your float.
